SKIING & SNOWSHOEING:
HooDoo Ski Area offers a new lodge, state of the art chair lifts, night skiing, groomed or powder alpine runs and beginning to advanced nordic trails. Not a skier? Try their Autobahn Tube Hill. Ray Benson Sno-Park features a variety of nordic trails. Throughout the area are ample opportunities for snowshoeing.
A good place to soak after a day of activity, the mineral pools at Belknap are a five minute drive from the Log Cabin Inn and are open all year. For a more rustic experience, take a short walk into Terwilliger Hot Springs.
Aufderheide Memorial Drive - Part of the West Cascades National Scenic Byway, the Aufderheide Memorial Drive winds through old growth forests, passes mountain lakes and follows both the McKenzie and Willamette Rivers. Many excellent hiking trails start from the two lane paved road. It also accesses the Terwilliger Hot Springs and the Westfir covered bridge. Mile-by-mile directional and interpretive CDs are available to borrow at the USFS McKenzie River Station for this drive.
Covered Bridges - Home to 20 covered bridges, Lane County has more covered bridges than any other county west of the Mississippi. Two of these bridges are within easy driving distance of the Log Cabin Inn.
Goodpasture Covered Bridge - Built in 1938 and one of the most beautiful covered bridges in Oregon.
Belknap Covered Bridge - Covered bridges have occupied this site since 1890.
King Road Stables is located minutes from the Log Cabin Inn, offering lessons and trail rides.
